Adobe Illustrator Notes

Wk 3a - Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
(I) Watch Mr. Webb's demonstration and post notes to do the following on your blog:
- Creating a new canvas (document)
(Press Command+N to make a new document)
Size= LETTER, Orientation=Portrait

Go to Window>Workspace>Reset Essentials
To reset Adobe Illustrator when you first open the app.

- Interface navigation, drawing tools (Illustrator's shapes & using the Pen Tool)

Click and drag the rectangle on your document
ELLIPSE (L)
ROUNDED RECTANGLE
POLYGON TOOL
STAR TOOL
FLARE TOOL

PEN TOOL (P)
The Pen tool allows you to create lines and curves.
- Setting the Fill Color, and the Stroke Color
- Saving file formats (saving for Adobe Illustrator editing vs. Saving an image for the web)

3. Rebus-An illusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words.
Free bear for a year. In this rebus they used a symbol of a bee, the number 4, and a image of a ear. 
To infinity and beyond. In this rebus they used the number , the infinity sign, and the letters B and D.
The New York times magazine. In this Rebus the used the Statue of liberty, a clock, and a image of a a book.

American Flag

The Stars represent the 50 states in the United States of America. The whites represents purity and innocence, the red represents hardiness valour, the blue represents the color of the chief. The broad band above the stripes signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Constellation-a specific area of the celestial sphere as defined by the International Astronomical Union.

Electronic symbols-pictogram used to represent various electrical and electronic devices 
Morse Code-a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener
American Sign Language- The primary sign language used by deaf and hearing-impaired people in the United States and Canada
Glyph-A symbolic figure or character, usually incised or carved.
